The show is never the same when we are down a man. But Jake Hamilton and Sean O’Connell soldier on this week with Kevin McCarthy off on assignment in some top secret location… which is why Jake and Sean actually take time to make an NFL Football bet.
So if you see something unusual on either of their Twitter feeds, you will now know why.
This week on ReelBlend, the guys talk a little bit about their Joaquin Phoenix interview, though that will be part of the October 4 show. Instead, this week, the boys get a chance to sit down with Gremlins director Joe Dante to celebrate that film’s 35-year legacy. It’s rare that we are able to dissect an old film that we all adore, and Dante’s stories about the production and its history are fascinating. We hope you enjoy.
In the news section of this week’s show, Jake and Sean debate the merits of the original Jurassic Park cast returning for Jurassic World 3. Needless to say, Jake is FAR more excited for it than Sean is. I mean, did you SEE Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom?
They also bat around the rumor (no pun intended) that Jonah Hill could be joining Matt Reeves’ planned Batman film, the one with Robert Pattinson in the lead role as the Caped Crusader. Who could Hill play? We speculate.
Jake also has a fantastic story about potentially meeting George Lucas in Chicago this week that you have to hear to believe.
Finally, this week’s Blend Game is #MoviePosterBlend, and our listeners had outstanding suggestions on social media. Not only that, even though he couldn’t be there for the show, Kevin still sent in his pick, and shared a very cool story.
