Yes, Kingsman 3 Already Has A Script

Taron Egerton in Kingsman: The Golden Circle

Fans of the Kingsman franchise are going to get their next fix in the form of prequel film The King's Man, but what most fans are probably looking forward to is a third installment of the main franchise, starring Taron Egerton. A Kingsman 3 had been confirmed as being on the slate for this burgeoning cinematic universe, but now we finally have an update on the film's status. It turns out, the script has already been written.

Taron Egerton appeared at ACE Comic Con Midwest over the weekend where he confirmed (via Comicbook.com) that there is a script that will create a trilogy of Kingsman movie for him. Although, based on the comment, Egerton seems to confirm that Kingsman 3 is as far as this part of the story will go. According to Egerton...

I'm really not allowed to say anything, but there is a script. It's a really neat idea. That plan, at the moment, is that we'd like to do another one, one more time.

Franchise director Matthew Vaughn had previously stated that we wanted Kingsman 3 to finish off the story of Eggsy and Harry, and with Taron Egerton calling Kingsman 3 "one more time" it sounds like the next movie will likely wrap up Eggsy's story entirely.

As Taron Egerton states that he's not allowed to talk about it, we certainly don't get much detail about what the next proper Kingsman movie could possibly be. Egerton seems to like the idea for the story.Matthew Vaughn had indicated that the film will see the return of not just Eggsy or Colin Firth's Harry, but also the teams of Statesman character that were introduced in Kingsman: The Golden Circle. It seems that, since the last movie left all of these characters in new places, the next film will follow them as they navigate their new situations.

Even if Kingsman 3 ends up being the end of this particular story, there's no reason to believe that the franchise is going anywhere. With the spinoff prequel, The King's Man on the way we could get an entirely new series of films. Movies that follow the Statesman characters specifically have also been teased.

At this point we have no idea when the new Kingsman movie will be hitting screens. Originally the movie was expected to film alongside The King's Man but that clearly did not happen. There's no set release date, and with 21st Century Fox now being run by Disney, there's been a lot of release date shuffling that likely put this movie on the back burner a bit.

Hopefully, The King's Man will be a movie that keeps the franchise fans excited for more and satisfied so that the wait for the proper Kingsman 3 becomes easier to accept. The King's Man arrives in theaters in February 2020.
