Chris Evans Revolts In Snowpiercer Trailer

"We control the engine, we control the world."

Chris Evans has played a world-saving hero on a few occasions, most recently as bully-loathing super soldier Steve Rogers in Captain America: The First Avenger and The Avengers. Next up in Bong Joon-ho's Snowpiercer, the clean-shaven star has no superpowers, a gruff beard, but the same drive to change the world for the better. In this case, it means toppling the cruel class system that divides the passengers of the titular train.

The first English-language film from the director of The Host and Mother is based on a French graphic novel called Le Transperceneige. This narrative of class warfare takes place in AD 2031, a time where the world is overrun by ice and snow and all the remaining humans left exist on the train Snowpiercer. But much like the Titanic, the affluent/higher class live in the more posh parts of the train, near the front where the engine lies. The poor, the sickly, and the criminal scrape by in the tail. But that's about to change as Curtis (Evans) stirs up a resistance force that hopes to take Mason (Swinton) and her separatist ways down!

Aside from Swinton and Evans, Snowpiercer also has such outstanding talent as Octavia Spencer, Alison Pill, Jamie Bell, John Hurt, Kang-ho Song, and Ed Harris on board-- many of whom can be spotted in the trailer above. You can learn more about their characters from these character posters and passport pics. Gallingly, we still don't know when The Weinstein Company plans to release Snowpiercer Stateside. Like the posters that have come before this international trailer promises "Summer 2013." Does that also apply to its US release? It's summer now! TELL US WHEN ALREADY!
