Don't expect to see Brad Pitt walking a red carpet where every reporter's question will inevitably be about his recent divorce. Though the actor was scheduled to appear at the premiere of his latest film Voyager of Time on Wednesday night, Pitt now says he is choosing to stay home.
Of course, Brad Pitt is correct that if he walked the red carpet at the premiere, the press would only be interested in talking with him about his headline-grabbing, high profile divorce from Angelina Jolie, which is still buzzy a week after it came to public attention. (Even with Pitt absent, some reporters will probably going to be asking if his costars noticed signs of the divorce, what their thoughts on the divorce are, etc.)
The other big name that you might not be seeing at the Voyage of Time premiere is its director Terrence Malick. Though a well-known director, Malick very rarely makes public appearances, His appearances are so rare, that the news that he may be attending a film screening next month recently made headlines.
Brad Pitt and Terrence Malick worked together before on 2011's Oscar-nominated drama The Tree of Life. Also written and directed by Malick, Voyage of Time is a documentary film shot for IMAX that examines the birth and death of the universe. Brad Pitt serves as the narrator for the forty-minute IMAX version of the film, while Cate Blanchett narrates the feature length edition.
Last Monday, it was revealed that Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from her husband Brad Pitt. The couple met on the set of their 2005 spy thriller Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and immediately became tabloid fixtures after being dubbed Brangelina. After dating for nearly a decade and having six children together (three biological, and three adopted), the couple got married in 2014. They divorce about a month after their two-year anniversary this year.
