Two of the biggest pop music stars are getting together... and not in a professional sense. Selena Gomez was spotted kissing The Weeknd during a romantic dinner date on Tuesday night.
A photographer for TMZ captured a ton of photos of the two young singers' date night, and from the looks of the cuddly pics, the date went very well. The two stars can be seen embracing each other and grinning as they walked out of the restaurant, and there are even a few kisses in there to seal the deal. It looks like we might be on the verge of a new music power couple here!
Sources are telling PEOPLE that the date went well also, but not to get our hopes up for any sort of official relationship anytime soon. Apparently, the singers are still just getting to know one another and they aren't rushing into anything serious. Although an onlooker did say that the pair was just as lovey-dovey with one another during their meal as they were walking out of the restaurant.
The possible new relationship comes two months after The Weeknd split up with his girlfriend of nearly two years Bella Hadid. The couple reportedly split due to too many scheduling conflicts and remain friends, although that ex factor has some potential to cause drama between Hadid and Selena Gomez. Eagle-eyed Instagram users have already noticed that Hadid has unfollowed Gomez on the app following the news of the romantic night out. The two women also run in the same circle of friends --- Taylor Swift's famous squad of young models and singers. If there is any beef between Hadid and Gomez, it could potentially create a rift in the high profile circle of gal pals.
As for Selena Gomez's past relationships, her being drawn to a hit-making pop star like The Weeknd is nothing new. Gomez has been linked to other huge pop singers like Nick Jonas and One Direction's Niall Horan in the past, and of course her longest and most famous relationship was with Justin Bieber. Gomez and Bieber had an incredibly high-profile on-again, off-again relationship beginning in 2010 and continuing through 2015. That oftentimes volatile relationship made Gomez a tabloid staple, but the singer stepped away from the limelight in 2016 to focus on her mental health following emotional complications associated with her lupus.
Given that Selena Gomez and The Weeknd are two of the trendiest pop stars right now, with connections to pretty much every artist playing on Top 40 radio, they could very well become one of the biggest couples of 2017 if they make things official!
