James Brolin and Barbra Streisand have been married for 20 whole years now, and they're still very much in love. While several celebrity marriages come and go, Barbra and James are still here to stay. The actor and actress/director recently celebrated the big 2-0 anniversary, and Streisand had some very lovely and loving words to say to her husband of two whole decades for the big day. Even with two decades under their belts, Barbra Streisand and James Brolin are staying strong and committed to their love to one another. Indeed, the celebrity couple was married back in 1998, on July 1. They reportedly first met on a blind date -- as odd as that sounds, considering who they both are. As People recounted, here's what Barbra Streisand said about her first encounter with her future husband, and when the sparks first flew.
I met him at a dinner and expected a bearded mountain-man type, and he had cut off all his hair and was clean-shaven. I asked him, 'Who screwed up your hair?' He later told me that's when he fell in love with me. My fella likes to hear the truth, which is unusual.
Barbra Streisand and James Brolin were no strangers to marriage when they were first hitched. Streisand was previously with Elliott Gould, and they were married in 1963 and then divorced in 1971. Brolin, meanwhile, was married to Jane Cameron Agee and Jan Smithers. Brolin was married to the former from 1966 to 1984, and he was married to the latter from 1986 to 1995. While those other marriages didn't last, Streisand and Brolin are still together. And they have even more reason to celebrate today because it was recently announced that Josh Brolin, James Brolin's son, is going to be a father again with his wife, Kathryn Boyd. It will be their first child together, although Josh Brolin is also the father of Trevor (30) and Eden Brolin (24).
While Barbra Streisand and James Brolin aren't seen on the big or small screen as often as they used to be, they're not hurting for work either. James Brolin can currently be seen on the CBS comedy Life in Pieces, which began back in 2015. Streisand, meanwhile, recently announced that she is looking to get back into the director's chair for a new upcoming movie, which has limited details at the moment. It'll be her first directorial feature since 1996's The Mirror Has Two Faces.
We wish Barbra Streisand and James Brolin many congratulations on their latest marriage anniversary. Here's to twenty more years together!
