Bobbi Kristina Brown Is Re-Engaged To Her Non-Brother, Cute Or Creepy?

Bobby Kristina Brown and Nick Gordon’s on-again-off-again relationship is back on in a big way. After calling off their engagement pretty much out of nowhere last November, Gordon slipped the ring back on his twenty-year-old fiancee’s finger recently, and now, they’re ready for the whole world to know love is once again in the air.

Brown and Gordon have been best friends for what feels like a decade, but their relationship is incredibly complicated because Brown’s deceased mother Whitney Houston raised them both under the same roof. Gordon moved in at the age of twelve, and while he was never legally adopted, the beloved singer reportedly treated him much like a son. Extended family members even thought of the two as siblings, which is perhaps why their engagement has been so off-putting for many fans and family members alike.

Luckily for Brown, she apparently is already aware of the criticism and really isn’t concerned about what other people might say. Here’s the explosive Facebook message she released announcing the engagement news today…

YES, we me nick are engaged. I'm tired of hearing people say "eww your engaged to your brother or if Whitney was still alive would we be together or would she approve of this." Let me clear up something, we aren't even real brother and sister nor is he my adoptive brother. My mom never adopted him. In fact, mommy was the one who even said that she knew that we were going to start dating. My mom knows me better than any of you. A lot of yall are saying that yall are only saying this all out of love. Which is bull because if that was so, all you would want is for me to be happy. People need to seriously stop judging my relationship. Pretty sure it's my own decision who I want to be with. Yes, my relationship may not be perfect. We will have rough patches, just like every other relationship. And we have had our rough patches. You may or may not agree with my relationship. You may or may not respect it. Judge me, go ahead. Your opinions are yours and mine are mine. It is my life and not yours. The decisions I make have nothing to do with you. Goodnight

On the one hand, it’s easy to see why people are so squeamish about this relationship. There’s something remarkably odd and unnerving about being sexually active with someone you ate meals with as a kid. Throw in the previous break-up, their ages (20 and 23) and his arrest and the whole thing seems like a trainwreck waiting to happen. The partnership seems like it’s almost destined to fail in explosive fashion. On the other hand, however, if these two have spent most of their lives together and still get along well enough to want to marry, that might actually mean they can make it work. After all, they should know exactly what the other is going through no matter what they encounter because of their shared experiences.
