Joe Francis Furious About Stolen Sex Tape
Joe Francis might make his living in the sex and nudity business, but that doesn’t mean he’s excited about pushing his personal life into the same territory. Recently, the Girls Gone Wild creator and his girlfriend, Abbey Wilson, had an iPad stolen at the airport, and on that iPad was apparently quite a bit of X-rated footage featuring the longtime couple. Now, whoever took the iPad is allegedly making overtures to several porn companies about selling the footage, and neither Joe nor Abbey is pleased about the potential leak.
According to TMZ, Francis’ attorney has already threatened legal action, which is somewhat amusing considering they’ve been on the other end of more than one lawsuit from a girl claiming she didn’t want naked footage made public. In fact, Girls Gone Wild recently lost a $5 million judgment to a girl whose top was pulled down without her consent. Obviously, that’s not quite the same thing as has happened here, but it still puts Francis in a unique position to understand both sides of the coin when it comes to this case.
Authorities have definitely been contacted and are involved with the case, but at this point, it’s unclear whether there are any suspects. If the tape winds up being leaked for free on a filesharing website, it could prove to be extremely difficult to track the culprit. If a serious sale is attempted, however, one would imagine cops would be able to track who is involved.
Win, lose or draw this will definitely be remembered along with the other completely bizarre pieces of personal life drama Francis has found himself in over the past few years.
