Manti Te'o's Fake Girlfriend Makes Maxim's Hot 100 List

I frequently disagree with Maxim’s Hot 100 list, especially this year when that troll Miley Cyrus hit the #1 spot (apparently, all you need is a bad haircut and a wardrobe chock full of American Apparel pieces to make the list these days). Hilarously, however, this year the listmakers put in a funny little joke at #69, including Manti Te’o’s fake girlfriend.

That’s right, all of the stories and lies and hoax-related information was popular enough in pop culture news this year that the Maxim writers couldn’t help themselves and included the fake woman on the list. If you’ve been keeping track of the hoax at all, you probably know by now that Ronaiah Tuiasosopo has admitted to creating a fake online and phone personality that Te’o took seriously. At the time, it was a huge shocker, and it even had somewhat of an effect on Te’o pick number during the NFL draft.

Nestled among the likes of such big names as Cameron Diaz, Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke, Jessica Chastain, and Rachel Bilson is the above image, which shows a lone bikini without a body to fill it hanging out on the beach. I actually feel pretty sorry for whatever girl got bumped off of the list in order to add in the clever little joke. Regardless, it was a smooth publicity move and Maxim’s top 5 this year are, as follows: Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Rihanna, Mila Kunis, and Jennifer Lawrence. You can check out the full list over at Maxim’s site.
