One Tree Hill was a staple of CW programming for the better part of a decade. Thanks to a series of time jumps, the show was able to follow the ups and downs of a group of characters as they grew from high school students to college grads to adults over nine seasons. Fans had to say a hard goodbye to the series when it came to an end in 2012, but now those fans are in luck. A handful of key cast members will be reuniting this fall, as Chad Michael Murray, James Lafferty, Antwon Tanner, and Jana Kramer will appear at the EyeCon Convention in Chicago from November 11-13.
The One Tree Hill foursome will reunite for panels and autograph sessions, according to EW. Country singer Jana Kramer will also perform some of her songs over the weekend. All in all, it looks like One Tree Hill fans might want to start planning their November trips to Chicago to catch the reunion.
Chad Michael Murray and James Lafferty alone would be worth travel and ticket prices for folks who tuned in for all nine seasons of One Tree Hill. They led the series as Lucas and Nathan Scott from the very beginning all the way up to Season 7, with the half-brothers starting out as high school basketball rivals with tumultuous love lives. The cast expanded to revolve around five main characters shortly after the premiere, but it was the drama with the Scott brothers that really drove the teen soap to success. Murray ended up leaving One Tree Hill after Season 6, though he reprised his role as Lucas for a guest appearance in the ninth and final season, while Lafferty stuck around all the way to the very end.
Antwon Tanner played Antwon "Skills" Taylor throughout the entire series. He was recurring for Seasons 1 - 3 and 8 - 9 but was billed as a regular for Seasons 4 - 7. Skills was one of Lucas' best friends early on in One Tree Hill, and he then grew to become friends with Nathan as well. His on-again/off-again relationship with Bevin drove him through a lot of his arcs, and he ended the finale in an on-again stage that may or may not have been able to last that time around.
Jana Kramer was a regular for Seasons 7 and 8, then appeared as a guest star for a couple of episodes in Season 9. She played the character of Alex Dupre, who showed up on One Tree Hill as a former starlet who had fallen from grace. Alex was able to make her way back to the spotlight thanks to a modeling job and some breaks in the film biz, although romantic ups and downs meant that she had a hard time balancing her personal life with her work during her time on the show.
The One Tree Reunion at EyeCon should be worth attending for anybody who still misses all the wonderfully soapy drama of the show. Unfortunately, other cast members who played major roles are not going to be in attendance, at least not as of this writing. Still, the four who will be making it to Chicago for the convention should have plenty of stories to tell of their time on One Tree Hill.
