Gilmore Girls is coming to Netflix in just a couple of weeks, and if you'd like to go into the series with a fresh perspective, now is a great time to hop to another article!

Throughout the history of Gilmore Girls, we've seen Lorelei and Emily Gilmore make some breakthroughs as they have both struggled to try and understand the lifestyles they've each chosen and the choices and sacrifices they've each made. However, by the end of the original WB/CW series, Emily and Lorelei were still not 100% on the same page and still dealt with problems in their relationship. However, it looks like Emily and Lorelei's relationship will be changing when Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life hits the schedule. Here's what lead actress Lauren Graham had to say about the revival series:

The healing that happens between Lorelai and Emily is such a long time coming. And because Richard's absence is such a big part of our story, it really meant a lot to me to grow their relationship a little bit.

If you've been keeping tabs on the Gilmore Girls revival, you may already know that Gilmore Girls has plans to address Edward Herrmann's death. The actor passed away back in 2014, and as such, will not be a part of the revival. Since Rory's Grandpa and Lorelei's father was such an important part of the series, it makes sense that the show would at least touch on the character's death, and we've already heard a little bit about how Gilmore Girls plans to bring up that particular plotline. We also know the death in the family will bring up thoughts regarding the main characters' own feelings of mortality.

Now, however, it looks as if Richard's death is going to have a profound affect on the series in other ways. Lauren Graham told TV Line that her relationship with her mother would also be affected by the death of her dad, and it seems like that should mostly be a good thing. Although we should note that Graham clarified things will only change "a little bit," so I think we should also expect some passionate arguments and even a few barbs will be exchanged through the four-episode series. Hopefully, all in all, the two women will end up closer to being on the same page than ever before.

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life will hit the schedule at 12:01 a.m. PT on Netflix. To find out what else the subscription streaming service has hitting the schedule here. In addition, take a look at what we know about Gilmore Girls' upcoming revival with our guide to the new TV series.
