Why One Big Brother 19 Houseguest Had To Leave The Game

Big Brother 19 house

Earlier today we shared a major Big Brother live feed spoiler relating to one of the houseguests, who has left the house. This houseguest has since given a statement regarding their departure. If you don't want to know who it is or why they left, ahead of Sunday's episode, read no further! We're about to get into spoiler territory here.

Ok, you've had your spoiler warning.

When the live feeds came on after the Big Brother 19 season premiere, fans quickly noted that Megan Lowder was gone. Discussions inside the house revealed that Megan went into the diary room sometime on Thursday morning, and she was gone by the afternoon. It was believed that she'd chosen to quit the show, but Megan has since revealed the reason she left the house, and it has to do with PTSD from her time in the Navy...

When I was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia, I was sexually assaulted and I got really bad PTSD from it. So in the house... I had a lot of guys yelling at me and attacking me and it started really affecting me and making my anxiety severe and I was starting to get physically ill. I was throwing up, I had diarrhea, I was nauseous all the time.

Following comments made on the live feeds, rumors have apparently been circulating that Megan made some kind of racist remark, however it sounds like the real story involves something Megan may or may not have overheard someone saying, which she then repeated. According to what Megan told the Desert Sun, she overheard someone say something racist about Alex. She repeated the information, and after which was accused of lying. Megan admits now that she might have heard wrong. Regardless, she went into the diary room on Thursday morning and according to what she told the Desert Sun, started to have a panic attack. She was taken to the hospital from there, and it was apparently a mutual decision for her to leave the game.

Megan Lowder had a brief arc in the second part of the Big Brother 19 season premiere, due to houseguest Josh calling her out after the Head of Household competition. After Josh chose to take the safety apple -- eliminating himself and the rest of his team from the Head of Household competition -- he insisted he did it because he knew he was being targeted, and pointed the finger at Megan.

Because we don't have live feeds showing the first week of the game, we don't really know what went down that seemed to put it in Josh's head that Megan was targeting him. Megan seemed surprised by the outburst and the blame. And from what she's recently revealed, it seems possible Josh's outburst could have contributed to her anxiety, though Megan says she doesn't blame anyone for her exit.

Megan was nominated next to Alex for the first eviction. Following her exit, Jillian was put up in her place. Meanwhile, from what Megan has said on Twitter, it sounds like she has nothing but good feelings about her former housemates...

It's a shame Megan had to leave so suddenly, especially due to what sounds like some very challenging issues from her past. It couldn't have been an easy decision to leave. We wish her all the best moving forward.

Based on what's been said on the feeds, it sounds like the houseguests believe Megan quit the show. We can only assume that Big Brother didn't offer much information on her exit. Whether or not the show goes into detail about what happened to lead to Megan's departure remains to be seen. The next episode airs Sunday night.
