Teen Mom OG star Amber Portwood was arrested early Friday, July 5 in Indianapolis for alleged domestic battery. Police told TMZ Portwood's boyfriend, Andrew Glennon, claimed she assaulted him while he was holding their 1-year-old son James. The alleged incident happened around 3 a.m. this morning, after Amber and Andrew got into a heated argument. Since the fight reportedly happened in the presence of a child, Child Protective Services was contacted.

This unfortunate arrest update comes shortly after Teen Mom OG showed Amber and Andrew talking about potentially having more kids. Amber took a pregnancy test, since she was late, and they thought they might have another child. (Amber has a 10-year-old daughter Leah with ex-boyfriend Gary Shirley.) Amber's mom also asked Amber and Andrew if they were planning to get married.

TMZ's arrest news added dispatch audio, with Andrew Glennon telling police he felt he and his son's lives were in danger. Sadly, this is far from Amber Portwood's first run-in with the law. In 2010, she was was arrested on three counts of domestic violence after allegedly pushing ex Gary Shirley against a wall, slapping him, and choking him. That incident was also said to be witnessed by 1-year-old Leah, per CNN.

Amber Portwood later spent 17 months in prison connected to drug charges. She was released in 2013 and told Dr. Phil she was released early from her five-year sentence for good behavior. She also got her GED and said she was high during most Teen Mom episodes and planned to stay sober from that point on.

Amber Portwood has been part of the MTV reality TV world since 16 and Pregnant in 2009. She was cast for Teen Mom and then returned for Teen Mom OG. Portwood and Andrew Glennon met in 2017 when she was filming Marriage Boot Camp with ex-fiance Matt Baier.

Teen Mom OG recently showed both Amber and Andrew talking to a therapist about her struggle living with bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder. She admitted she sometimes felt attacked when Andrew didn't understand what she was going through, adding this note about her mood swings:

I haven't really been doing very well when it comes to mood swings. Any little thing, tiny, tiny thing, will enrage me.

Amber Portwood has talked in the past about wanting to quit Teen Mom OG due to a negative portrayal. (That's what Bristol Palin recently did, along with two others.) Fans will have to stay tuned to see if her latest arrest affects anything on the show. Teen Mom OG Season 6 continues with Episode 6 this Monday, July 8 at 9 p.m. on MTV.
