When Supernatural ends, it will have been on the air for 15 seasons! Hence, you can imagine that Jared Padalecki and his fellow cast members have a lot of favorite moments from the show’s incredible run. Padalecki has shared a few of his favorites, and he is not alone, with co-stars Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins, and Alexander Calvert waxing nostalgic as well.
Let us start with the future Walker, Texas Ranger star himself, Jared Padalecki. The Supernatural actor has already shared his resolutions for 2020, and now he is enlightening fans about some of his favorite moments from the show’s 15 seasons. What made his top picks? Well, one of Padalecki’s first choices involved This Is Us’ Sterling K. Brown. Padalecki told TV Guide:
I think it was the episode called ‘Bloodlust’ with Sterling Brown, and he played Gordon. Basically, Gordon’s character can smell Sam’s character, because of the demon blood. He thinks I’m a monster, and he’s coming to kill me. And Dean ends up helping barricade Sam into a motel room, and they’re sitting there preparing for this amped-up vampire to come try and kill Sam, and kill Dean to if he has to get through him. And there’s a scene where Sam and Dean are kind of at wits end, and they’re talking. And we finally hear what’s kind of keeping Sam going, and he says, “I just want you to be my brother again.’ And it kind of set a certain tone in the back of my head, understanding who Sam really was, and why he ran away after college. Because he loved his father and his brother so much, that he couldn’t be in their atmosphere.
How sweet! Little did Sam know at the time that his relationship with his brother and father would get an in-depth revisit when his dad returned for Supernatural’s 300th episode. In related news, Sterling K. Brown called his time on The CW hit one of his “favorite experiences in front of the camera” on Twitter when Supernatural announced it would be ending with Season 15.
What was Jared Padalecki’s next favorite Supernatural moment? The former Gilmore Girls actor hilariously kept switching between his own favorite bits and what he believed his character Sam’s would be. His second pick had personal significance for both Padalecki and his character, though probably more for Padalecki, considering his screen partner became his wife and the mother of his children. Padalecki said:
Sam liked getting his parallel dance on with Ruby. Okay, I shouldn’t say that.
Yowzah, yowzah! As Jensen Ackles pointed out, “Ruby” was played by Jared Padalecki’s future wife, Genevieve Cortese, who made her first appearance on Supernatural in Season 4. The couple married in 2004 and have three children together! What's more, she'll actually be returning to Supernatural before its final season is up, along with Danneel Ackles, Jensen's wife.
When Supernatural wrapped its penultimate season, Padalecki posted an adorable picture of his and Genevieve's daughter applying his make-up. On that lovely note, Padalecki shared some things that Sam was glad to have missed on Supernatural, saying:
Sam was glad he didn’t have to wear lederhosen in the black and white episode that was called ‘Monster Movie.’ I was glad I did not get dragged to hell and hung up by the spikes at the end of Season 3.
Jared Padalecki could not help having a bit more fun at the expense of Jensen Ackles' Dean with his other fond memories. Supernatural had a James Bond-style idea for Dean that ended up not getting used. However, a certain fear of his has remained a staple ever since. According to Padalecki:
One of my favorite things with Sam is that he wasn’t scared of everything like the cat and the snake and stuff.
Dean may have some concerns to overcome, but it has not kept him from going John Wick on Supernatural. As you would suspect, Jared Padalecki’s long-time co-star and Dean’s portrayer, Jensen Ackles, has some favorite moments of his own! Enlightening fans as to what they are, Ackles laid out his number one memory:
One was when I got the answer right and didn’t get ‘Nutcracker’-ed.
Intense! I think everyone can appreciate not getting an excruciating hit between the legs.
