WandaVision has become one of Marvel Studios most anticipated projects, and fans are eager to get more info on the limited series ahead of its release. Unfortunately, the show’s status has been somewhat up in the air following the industry-wide production shutdowns and delays. Luckily, Kathryn Hahn did provide a quick update on WandaVision’s status and, although she couldn’t divulge much, she did confirm there’s more work to be done:

I've got a little bit left on WandaVision, but who knows, who knows… it is another surreal, awesome swing into another genre, but it's been so fun. I wish I could tell you a thing about it but I can't or I'd just disappear from this Zoom box.

Kathyrn Hahn was careful in choosing her words when discussing WandaVision with The Playlist’s Deep Focus podcast. However, she does appear to be pleased with the work that’s been completed:

It's gonna be fabulous. I can't say anything else!

Having wrapped production a few months ago, it appeared that WandaVision was finished shooting, though Marvel Studios is known for building reshoots into its filming schedules. The series was originally slated to be released on Disney+ (which offers a free 7-day trial) in early 2021 before getting moved up to the end of 2020. But with the delays in production, it’s unclear if the show will stick with this release window.

It was a pleasant surprise when Kathryn Hahn was announced to be joining WandaVision and stood alongside her castmates during Marvel Studios’ presentation at Disney’s D23 Expo. While Marvel projects are always shrouded under a cloud of secrecy, Hahn has to be particularly careful, as her exact role hasn’t even been revealed yet. The only thing we know about her character is that she’s a “nosy neighbor.” Some have already begun to speculate that she might be an antagonist.

Hahn’s sentiments do seem to indicate that the show will be something special, and that’s the vibe fans have gotten through the footage and artwork that’s already been shown. Plot details are still scarce, but the show will reunite Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch with Vision, who has seemingly been resurrected. From there, the two appear to be living happily in suburbia, with the show taking heavy influence from different eras of sitcoms to portray their new lives.

WandaVision will also have heavy connections to the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as it’s poised to bring back some familiar faces and tie into the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

The wait for WandaVision (and many of Marvel Studios’ other projects) is going to be tough for fans. But on the bright side, it sounds like the further adventures of the romantically involved Avengers should be well worth the wait.

As of right now, WandaVision is still scheduled to debut on Disney+ in December 2020.
