90 Day Fiance's Paul Is Apparently Heading To Brazil After Fight With Karine Ended In Restraining Order
Just days after 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After's Paul Staehle expressed worry that wife Karine Martins and son Pierre were missing and that he couldn't track them down, more details have surfaced that shed some light on the altercation between the couple which first led to Karine fleeing their home. Now, in light of new developments, it appears Paul is the one making big moves, as a cryptic picture on Instagram teased that he is paying a visit to Brazil in the near future.
Paul Staehle's Instagram, which has been a source for many of the known details about this timeline of events (at least from his point of view), recently featured a picture of ticket info for a plane departing from Louisville, Kentucky, and landing in Manaus, Brazil. The 29-hour flight is set to take off Tuesday, August 18th, and is a one-way ticket.
The purpose of sharing the plane info is mysterious, though it may imply that Paul Staehle intends to go to Brazil to speak directly with Karine Martins' family. Paul had mentioned in previous posts to fans that he had been in contact with Karine's mother, but that he believed someone was speaking for her and that she was not truly aware of the details in the protective order she signed off on. It also could be a subtle message to his estranged wife that if she's willing to hop on a plane to Brazil and never look back, he's willing to make that happen.
Obviously it's hard to assume anything at this point given a bulk of what we know about the case has come from Paul Staehle himself. For those out of the loop, police were called to the couple's home on Thursday, July 30th, after a heated argument over Karine Martins allegedly consulting a Brazilian attorney about divorce. Paul alleged that Karine had shoved him and that she had also been with another man drinking at his home.
The situation escalated when 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After's Paul Staehle updated fans on Instagram saying that Karine and their infant son Pierre had gone missing. In successive posts, Paul said that he had been tested for an STD, leading to some speculation that Karine had been unfaithful, and he then shared the paperwork for a protective order that Karine filed against him. In the document, Paul was accused of physically and sexually assaulting Karine, as well as raping her. Paul maintained that the words couldn't have been written by Karine, as her English isn't great, and then Karine updated fans with a now-deleted statement on her Instagram stories.
Karine and Paul are currently featured on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, and as it's shown, the couple has faced some struggles in their move from Brazil to Paul's hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. Paul had been unable to find work due to his past criminal record, and Karine had been disappointed that they have not been given the same support from Paul's parents that she had received from her family in Brazil. Perhaps the rest of the season will reveal more about what led to this seemingly huge fallout between the two.
