Why 90 Day Fiance's Paul And Karine Drama May Simmer For A While

Karine Martins 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? TLC

Warning! The following may contain spoilers for the current season of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?. Read at your own risk!

90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? has not been a great season for Paul Staehle and Karine Martins, as the two have struggled to find their footing while adjusting from the move to America from Brazil. Unfortunately, things have only gotten worse since the season stopped filming, but it looks like the drama may simmer in the coming weeks.

We previously reported that Karine Martins had petitioned the court for a restraining order, alleging Paul Staehle physically and sexually abused her over the course of their marriage. Paul denied those allegations and countered with his own request for a restraining order, claiming that Karine tried to kill him by putting glass in his food. According to InTouch Weekly, a judge has granted both parties restraining orders against each other and will determine which of the two will be awarded custody of their son, Pierre, at a later date.

With a custody hearing on the way, one would imagine both sides will try to be on their best behavior in order to secure rights for Pierre. I can also imagine there will be efforts to rectify past wrongs, such as Paul's recent statements post on social media. Paul took to social media again to express his regret for airing out the situation on social media:

I never knew my heart could feel such pain. I always took for granted my son would be around me every day. Waking up to his smiling face. Playing and going for long walks. I never want to date or remarry to ever feel this pain again. To not be a part of your children's life born and unborn is beyond painful. I regret oversharing private matters on social media and to other people. I regret taking for granted my family would be together forever and live happily ever after. To all the fathers out there. Keep your ears and heart open and your mouth shut when you're upset. Listen. Forgive. Do not hold grudges. And treat your wife and mother of your child like it's the last day you're with them. The world is unknown and unpredictable. But most of all keep most your marital problems private. This is a pain no one should endure. Not knowing if my children are ok. If and when I might see them again. I forgive all those in my life who have ever made false accusations against me. No matter who you are. I have no anger. No hate. No ill will.

Paul Staehle has made previous references to the fact that Karine Martins may be pregnant with the couple's second child, with the latest in the above statement. That hasn't been confirmed by Karine Martins, but one would assume that time will reveal whether or not the couple has another child on the way.

The situation may simmer, but we still have yet to learn whether or not 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? will welcome the two back on the show for another season. Couples get booted out of the franchise for various reasons and, given that both currently seem to be separated, I would be surprised if they were to appear on another season of the series.

90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? airs on TLC Sundays at 8:00 p.m. ET. Continue to stick with CinemaBlend for more on the franchise, and for the latest news happening in television and movies.
