CBS' Survivor Is Finally Returning And Jeff Probst Has An Exciting Message For Fans
After it was understandably forced to take close to a year off during the COVID-19 pandemic, Survivor is finally heading back to CBS. The island survival series was rumored to be going back into production for Season 41 back in February, and just a few weeks later, longtime host Jeff Probst has officially confirmed the beloved competition series has its eye (network) on restarting the filming process.
Jeff Probst made this exciting announcement to fans via social media, and while he didn't tease much about what the theme of the season would be, he did confirm a few things. Read up on what Probst said to fans below, and how Survivor will be back and moving forward in a safe manner.
Season 41 of Survivor will mark the first season for the series since Survivor: Winners At War, which pitted a good number of the series' past winners against each other. While no theme has been announced as of yet for what fans can expect to see next, one would imagine that Survivor will return to the standard format by introducing audiences to a new wave of contestants fresh out of quarantine and ready to dive into one of the craziest experiences of their lives.
As for when audiences can expect this new season of Survivor, one would think Fall 2021 isn't a crazy date to pencil into the mental calendar. The spring television season is already in full swing, and with Big Brother set to return in its normal time slot this summer, the network has programming in place that should give audiences a sense of normalcy with their primetime viewing. With that said, television schedules have been all out of wack the past year, so the only way we can be sure when Season 41 will arrive is with an official announcement from either Jeff Probst or CBS.
Check out Jeff Probst delivering the message himself in the tweet below.
Probst certainly had the energy of a host that has missed his signature series, so I can only hope the same is true for the rest of the Survivor crew. Hopefully, that energy translates to some new and exciting twists to the upcoming season, though fans may just be happy for a standard season at this point. I know I wouldn't be mad if the original plan film both Season 41 and 42 back to back is still happening, if only as a safeguard in case the world is placed on lockdown yet again.
