Could Tom Hiddleston's Loki TV Show Feature Chris Hemsworth's Thor?

Loki and Thor looking wonderful

Tom Hiddleston will reprise his iconic Marvel villain role in Loki and with each passing week, the rumors and theories about this upcoming Disney+ series mount. Audiences are excited to see what madness could come from the time-aberrated Loki and his mischief, especially after it was believed he was killed off in the MCU. News of Loki's survival would be of interest to many in the MCU, which has me wondering: could his brother Thor make an appearance?

I'm sure most Marvel fans are rolling their eyes at this point, especially given all the false theories about other MCU characters appearing in WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Hear me out because I think there are some things worth considering in this instance and that there is a chance we'll see Chris Hemsworth's Thor at some point in this adventure.

Yes, It Is Possible For Thor To Appear In Loki

The first point that any naysayer towards a Thor appearance in Loki might argue is that we saw Chris Hemsworth's character leave with the Guardians of the Galaxy characters following Avengers: Endgame. Keep in mind, however, that this is a story about time and that the Loki we're following is a Loki that escaped after his capture via the Tesseract in The Avengers. This divergent timeline he created had no effect on the Thor we know and his future with Loki, so I would assume anywhere he may be ahead of this series is irrelevant.

Loki's Time Variance Likely Created Another Version Of Chris Hemsworth's Thor

The mere act of Loki's escape in The Avengers likely created a whole new timeline, in which another Thor exists with a different life because his brother wasn't around for any of their MCU moments beyond Avengers. Based on what I know of Thor, I do not believe that he'd just shrug and move on with his life after his brother escaped scot-free after destroying a good chunk of New York. I think it's possible he'd somehow go after his brother if he could find a way and possibly bungle up whatever good Loki is doing for the TVA.

Thor Has Dealt With The Timekeepers In Marvel Comics

The latest clip for Loki revealed that the TVA works for the Time Keepers, who are beings that preserve the timeline against their enemies, the Time Twisters. As one may guess, the Time Twisters like to disrupt and cause chaos, and Thor has dealt with both types in Marvel Comics. While that's not necessarily glowing evidence that Chris Hemsworth's Thor will appear, it does at least show there is some history and precedent, which could mean Thor is worked into the story somehow.

Loki's Plane Scene Seemingly Showed Some Asgardian Magic

The trailer for Loki featured a very interesting clip in which Tom Hiddleston's character dove from a plane and was caught in what appeared to be the Bifrost. Given the fact that time can be fluid in this series, it's possible that Heimdall was the one who pulled Loki from the sky and would absolutely do so at the request of Thor. Loki even says, "Brother, when I'm down, you better be ready," which could be a direct message to Thor.

Ultimately, we don't know for sure whether or not Thor will appear in Loki. But obviously, there's a lot of Marvel fans who would love to see Chris Hemsworth appear. That may have been enough for Marvel to woo him for an appearance, but we probably won't know for sure until Loki debuts.

Loki premieres on Disney+ on Wednesday, June 9. We have plenty of speculation and ideas regarding the series as we get closer, so be sure to read up on our thoughts like the characters we most hope will appear in the Marvel series.
