America’s Got Primetime Springer

It’s been fifteen years since the ‘Jerry Springer Show’ premiered, and those fifteen years have been, quite honestly, the best of my life. Sure, graduating high school, learning to drive a car, and loosing my virginity may have had something to do with it; but, my fondest memories are all Springer based. Jerry taught me the importance of making sure my girlfriends weren’t cleverly disguised transsexuals. He taught me that my grandmother was probably having an affair with one of my gay cousins. And most importantly, Springer taught me that you have to pay 7.99 if you want to see any real nudity.

It appears viewers will no longer have to pay extra for bonus Springer action as the former Cincinnati mayor has signed on to host the second installment of ‘America’s Got Talent.’ Zap2It.com is reporting that he will replace first season host and long time Notre Dame fan Regis Philbin(‘Live With Regis and Kelly’, ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?’).

‘America’s Got Talent’ juggled its way into millions of hearts last summer by providing a medium for semi-talented musicians, contortionists, and weirdos to show everyone just how unimpressive they really were. Springer should add some much needed edge to the formerly below average variety program. No word yet on whether this season’s winner will also get their Jerry Beads.
