Think you need to choose show-loyalty between Grimm and Once Upon a Time? Amy Acker doesn’t seem to have a preference, at least not when it comes to taking on guest-starring roles. The actor who’s well known for her roles in Joss Whedon’s Angel and Dollhouse, is already set to play a guest role on NBC’s Grimm, and now it looks like we’ll be seeing her in Once Upon a Time as well.

Back in November, we reported that Acker was set to play a part in Grimm in a “Black Widow” related episode. Now TVLine is reporting that the former Happy Town star will be joining ABC’s Once Upon a Time for an episode. She’s set to play a romantic interest for Grumpy (or Leroy, as he’s known in Storybrooke). TVLine points out that it’s unclear whether Acker’s role will take place in the fairy-tale world flashbacks or in the modern day Storybrooke setting (or both).

Acker isn’t the only Whedonverse star to join Once Upon a Time. Emma Caulfield (Anya from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) will join the series to play the blind witch from Hansel and Gretel. Acker and Caulfield's Whedon-connection in Once may not be a coincidence. Writer Jane Espenson, who has ties with both Dollhouse and Buffy, is a consulting producer on the ABC series and has written several episodes for the show.
