If you’ve been watching ABC Family’s Make It or Break It, you might be wondering exactly how much of what you see in terms of the gymnastics is performed by the actors and how much of it is stunt-doubles and editing tricks. ABC Family put together this video, which breaks down how actresses Chelsea Hobbs, Ayla Kell, Josie Loren and Cassie Scerbo prepare for the physical aspects of their roles as Olympic gymnasts on the series.
I was curious about this myself when I watched the pilot episode of the series, which follows a bunch of teen gymnasts as they attempt to juggle their grueling training along with their school, family and social lives. The video below features the actors and their trainer as they talk about the preparation that goes into the scenes they are actually performing in as well as where their part ends and their stunt-double’s part begins:
