CBS Orders Pilot Starring Bridesmaids Rebel Wilson

If you liked Rebel Wilson’s small but scene-stealing performance in Bridesmaids, you’ll appreciate this news. She may end up joining her Bridesmaids co-star (and another scene-thief) Melissa McCarthy on CBS, if things go well for her pilot.

TV Line shared the news today that CBS has given Rebel Wilson’s comedy Super Fun Night a pilot order. The project is described as a multi-camera comedy, “which follows three nerdy female friends on their “funcomfortable” quest to have super fun every Friday night.”

Wilson will not only write the pilot, but she’s also set to star. And as an added bonus, Conan O’Brien is among the executive producers.

Despite my limited interest in CBS comedies, Rebel Wilson was hilarious in Bridesmaids and could prove to be just as funny on the small screen. We’ll have to wait and see whether the pilot goes to series. In the meantime, she’s credited for a number of upcoming movie roles, including a part in the upcoming comedy film Bachelorette, which stars Lizzy Caplan and Kirsten Dunst.

If you want to see her being funny, here’s a video of an appearance she made on the The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson last year...
