The CW has made a few shifts in its Fall 2013 premiere schedule, one of which affects The Vampire Diaries spinoff The Originals. It looks like the network has opted to shift the spinoff's premiere date to temporarily pair it with The Vampire Diaries, which will likely give The Originals the benefit of a TVD lead-in and some added support before it moves over to Tuesday nights for its regularly scheduled night. This adjustment has moved both The Vampire Diaries and The Originals to a much earlier premiere date. Both series will debut on October 3, a week ahead of TVD's previous October 10 debut and nearly two weeks ahead of The Originals previously set October 15 debut.
Meanwhile, this shift has resulted in new series Reign getting bumped back from its original premiere date of Thursday October 10 to Thursday, October 17. Finally, Supernatural fans will be pleased to note that all of this date shuffling means that the series will return a week ahead of its previously scheduled October 15 premiere date. Here's how the new schedule breaks down.
Thursday, October 3
Left untouched by the schedule rearrangements are Arrow and The Tomorrow People, which will still premiere on October 9, and The Carrie Diaries and America's Next Top Model, both of which will return on October 25 as planned. Hart of Dixie and Beauty and the Beast also stick with their return date of Monday, October 7.
