Donald Sutherland Is An Eastman, And Boone Returns To TV

Take a deep breath. The pilot casting news is plentiful this fine evening. Donald Sutherland, father of Jack Bauer, is not leaving TV now that Dirty Sexy Money is gone. CBS has announced Sutherland has joined the cast of The Eastmans as the cardiologist patriarch of the dysfunctional doctor family.

Joy Suprano meanwhile gets in on 100 Questions for Charlotte Payne as the best friend of the titular character. You may be hoping Lost can get back to being a fully character driven show as promised next season, but Ian Somerhalder, first big dead guy on the island, is getting another shot on the small screen as one of the vampire brothers in the CW’s Vampire Diaries. Also joining the show are Michael Trevino, Katerina Graham, Sarah Carey, Zach Roerig, Candice Accola and Kayla Ewell. That show has to be about ready to shoot at this point, there isn’t much cast to flesh out.

Allison Munn has taken a lead role in NBC’s untitled Justin Adler comedy as the girlfriend of the family’s youngest son. Finally Joaquim de Almeida has been cast in the CBS drama Three Rivers as the director of the institute of transplant medicine. De Almeida will have a recurring role in the series.
