Glee Season 4 Clip Has Kate Hudson Showing Off Her Musical Talent
Joining the cast of Glee in the series' upcoming fourth season is Kate Hudson. We've seen a few glimpses of her in her role as Cassandra July in previous photos and promos, but this clip shows a full musical performance, which includes a mash-up of two familiar songs.
In Glee, Hudson's Cassandra July is a dance instructor at Rachel's new school, New York Academy of Dramatic Arts (or NYADA, as she refers to it). Based on the video below, it looks like Hudson can do more than dance. The clip has her singing a mash-up of Lady Gaga's "Americano" and Jennifer Lopez' "Dance Again."
Hudson's holding her own as a singer and a dancer. Granted, there's probably a fair amount of editing going on there, but she looks and sounds good, and the number definitely has that stage-performance quality to it. It's also a great mash-up, and it gives us a look at what Rachel's up against at her new school.
Rachel's reaction to July's display of singing and dancing has her looking intimidated. Or is there more to the story? From what we've heard about Hudson's character, she doesn't give Rachel an easy time of things. But New York was always going to be the next big challenge for Rachel Berry. No one said it would come easy!
Glee returns this Thursday (September 13) at 9/8c on Fox.
