More KITT In The Latest Knight Rider Teaser

With the premiere of NBC’s remake of Knight Rider approaching rapidly (February!), those of us who are eager to see if the televised film will be series-worthy are constantly on the lookout for new information about the movie. Earlier this week, another teaser featuring K.I.T.T. surfaced online.

If you’ve been keeping up with the news about Knight Rider then you probably already know that Will Arnett (Arrested Development) is set to play the voice of K.I.T.T. You can hear his voice at the very end of this teaser:

Strangely enough, in the new teaser, in which K.I.T.T says a lot more than just “Hello, Mike.” the voice sounds completely different.

So what’s the deal? The voices in both teasers sound somewhat modified but the second one barely sounds like Arnett at all. Did they just increase whatever effects they were using on Arnett’s voice for the latest teaser or is that someone totally different? As K.I.T.T’s voice plays a pretty major role in the show, it seems unlikely that they would use a stand-in voice for the trailer. So either they’ve recast the role (extremely doubtful but still very possible) or it really is him.

Considering Arnett once did voiceover work for GMC, it’s very possible that he intentionally changed the tone of his own voice to give the trailer a genuine car-commercial tone. This would definitely explain the difference in the way the voice sounds in the older teaser as opposed to how it sounds in the most recent one.
