NBC To Showcase Justin Bieber World Tour With A TV Special Next Month

Around the holidays, Justin Bieber hopped across the pond to create This is Justin Bieber, a performance and behind-the-scenes special that eventually aired in the U.S. on TLC. Either Bieber’s promoters are the most efficient ever, or NBC’s got a lot of dead airtime before the Olympics hit the network in July, because Bieber has got a brand new special set to air next month.

Justin Bieber: All Around the World will have a bigger scope than the Bieber holiday special. Instead of looking at one X Factor appearance, NBC’s upcoming special will follow the pop star for two weeks on his Believe tour, and will watch closely as the 18-year-old sings his way through seven countries in 12 days. The hour-long special will be the first time the singing wonder has been showcased on network TV, and NBC seems to be betting the unique look at Bieber’s tour will do big business. The special is set to air on a Thursday night during primetime, but early enough (8 p.m. ET) that young Beliebers can still tune in.

I’m actually pretty stoked for the special. Who isn’t a little excited about hearing exactly how the strange rap portions of “Boyfriend” pop out of the young star’s mouth in a live setting? The live performances should be enticing enough for even casual fans with nothing else to watch this summer to tune in, but I’m pretty intrigued by the documentary’s “Justin-cam,” which will show the tour through Bieber’s own eyes. If you haven’t bought a live ticket, you can catch Bieber on his global tour on June 21.

Justin Bieber: All Around the World airs Thursday June 21 at 8 p.m. ET.
