Revenge Season Finale Spoilers: Two Characters In A Bad Situation

Normally, I try to avoid looking that far ahead when it comes to Revenge, but the series' first season finale is really just around the corner, and when these pictures caught my eye, I couldn't not look. With that said, they're pretty spoilery and they're from an episode that's two weeks away, so keep that in mind before looking any further!

Tonight's episode of Revenge ("Legacy") will take us back in time to 2002 when Emily crashes the big New Years Eve party. It looks like we'll be back in the present for "Grief," which airs May 16. And then there's "Reckoning," the season finale. ABC's official synopsis for the finale doesn't give much away other than that something big happens…

"Reckoning" - With the end in sight, Emily fearlessly pushes forward, closing in on the final phases of her plan for revenge, while the Graysons continue their downward spiral into the rabbit hole of self-destruction. But a big, explosive event leaves much hanging in the balance, courses are altered and even more is left in question, on the Season Finale of Revenge, WEDNESDAY, MAY 23 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Does that "big, explosive" thing have anything to do with Nolan getting beat up and shackled to a wall along with Emily? Because that's what we're seeing here in these photos…

Nolan beat-up makes me sad. But his plaid pants, striped socks and saddle shoes make me smile. It's all very confusing. Meanwhile, Emily's dressed up like a cat-burglar, which makes me think maybe she got caught trying to rescue him. And that makes me think it's all part of some plan (the getting caught part, anyway). It looks like she might be picking the lock in that last one.

The big question isn't merely how they're going to get out of the situation, but how they got into it in the first place. Where are they? And who was sitting in that chair?
