TBS Sets Premiere Dates For Men At Work And Sullivan & Son

More comedy is on the horizon for TBS. The cable channel recently set the premiere dates for two new comedies, both of which will debut this summer, one much sooner than later. Men at Work will premiere in May, and Sullivan & Son will take over the time slot in July.

TBS announced the news today that buddy comedy series Men at Work will debut on May 24, with a Thursday at 10 PM timeslot. Created by Breckin Meyer (Franklin & Bash, Clueless), the series is describe as a buddy comedy about four guys who work together at a magazine. Set to star in it is That 70’s Show’s Danny Masterson, Michael Cassidy of The O.C., James Lesure (Las Vegas), and Adam Busch, whom Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans may remember well for his villainous role of Warren in the sixth season of the series. (Remember him? From the Trio? You’ve heard of them.)

Below are a couple of teasers for Men At Work.

Then, on July 19 (Thursday at 10 PM), TBS’ other new comedy Sullivan & Son will take over the time slot. The comedy is exec produced by Vince Vaughn, Peter Billingsley and Rob Long, and is set in a bar in a working class Pittsburgh neighborhood. Among the cast is Dan Lauria (Wonder Years), Jodi Long, Owen Benjamin, and Vivian Bang.

Both series sound like fun. Men at Work has a great cast and the potential to be a funny guy-centric comedy, plus it should be interesting to see how Breckin Meyer does as a series creator. Meyer has writing credits for various episodes of Robot Chicken, so he’s no stranger to being funny off camera. Meanwhile, Sullivan & Son has notable executive producers, and it’s bringing Dan Lauria back to television as yet another family patriarch.
