TV Recap: My Boys - John, Cougar, Newman Camp

Hopefully you’re still sitting from last week because this week’s episode of My Boys was just as swoon-worthy, whether or not that’s a bad thing is for you to decide.

We remain at Bobby’s wedding weekend and it’s the morning after Jack left and the unthinkable happened between Stephanie and Kenny, who have decided that it’s best if that particular occurrence should never be mentioned again. Bobby’s upset because Jack still isn’t back and PJ’s feeling a tad down, too, because she still likes Jack. I mean, I don’t really get it because he was such a total douche but I guess that’s the chemistry thing kicking us all in the butt. Anyways, so they’re all bummed but then decide that between Kenny, Mike, and Brendan there are enough people to cover being best man. And, of course, PJ will be there to cover all of them when they drop the ball.

Rehearsal time comes and there’s still no Jack so PJ is filling in when she notices Bobby doing his fidgety, nervous thing. She pulls him aside and they have a cute little friend moment. This is the moment when I realize that it would be super cute for them to be together and I really want her to be over stupid Jack already. Oh why can’t characters just do what I scream out at the TV? Agh.

Fast forward to the rehearsal dinner and PJ has never looked better. Everyone notices, including her new future husband, Bobby. The other person who notices? The newly returned Jack who is eyeing her through the window because he’s too much of a coward to actually come in and see his little brother. PJ goes to him, though, and convinces him to come inside. Of course Bobby forgives him and he gives a nice speech about how Bobby is patient and waits for the right thing to come along. Um..Obviously not big brother since he’s marrying Elsa. Not that Elsa has done anything wrong. She’s just not the right girl.

Alas, the dinner goes off without a hitch and the gang sits outside drinking and chatting. This is the moment when Bobby realizes that he’s marrying the wrong girl. They’re all speaking about what they think true love means and PJ says that it’s when you’re comfortable around the other person and you know they’re always there for you. So true. Seriously, the puppy dog eyes Bobby gave PJ totally say what he’s not. But he’s getting married in less than 12 hours and for some unknown reason PJ is still smitten with the brother. I’m taking away his name since his apology was so pathetic.

The next time we see Bobby he’s knocking on the door and I just know it’s going to be PJ’s. Yup, it’s Andy’s. Didn’t see that coming. Seems Bobby has cold feet and wants some good advice from the only happily married person he knows. Andy is awesomely funny as usual but also says that he and Meredith were best friends and couldn’t wait to be married to each other. So cute. Not so cute is Bobby’s ever falling face as he realizes he’s not excited to married to Elsa.

So everyone’s getting ready for tomorrow…Andy’s talking on the phone to Meredith. Mike is meeting his older woman for another rendezvous. Kenny is returning Stephanie’s bra as they continue to be just friends. Brendan is talking to John, who finally showed up, about the bar (and they both are into it which makes me so happy). And Bobby is knocking on a door again.

This time it is PJ’s and when she answers her hair is all mussed. This is not going to be good. Just as Bobby tells her he thinks he’s marrying the wrong woman, the brother walks out with his shirt off. And that’s it. That’s the end. Are you kidding? One more time…agh!
