A recent documentary series revisited allegations tied to one of television’s longest-running and best game shows, The Price is Right, and now, a former producer is pushing back publicly. The series, Dirty Rotten Scandals, which recently premiered on the 2026 TV schedule, includes interviews with former The Price Is Right models Kathleen Bradley and Holly Hallstrom, as well as former producer Barbara Hunter. In the docuseries, they describe what they characterize as a culture of harassment during the show's earlier years, including allegations involving men working behind the scenes during the tenure of the late, longtime host Bob Barker.

The former The Price Is Right producer Roger Dobkowitz responded in a lengthy Facebook post, disputing the doc's framing of events and defending the show’s workplace environment. His comments mark one of the most direct rebuttals from someone closely associated with the production during Barker’s decades-long run. In response to the docuseries' allegations, the former producer wrote:

Many of my friends have asked me for my comments in regards to the E documentary that was recently shown on their network. However, up until now, I avoided commenting on it because I didn’t want to add any social traction to such an obvious 'hit piece'. The 'documentary' should just quietly disappear into the bottom of a TV equivalent of a waste basket along with all the other forgotten so-called 'exposes.'

Dobkowitz argued that the documentary’s claims lack current relevance, as they involve events from decades ago that do not reflect his long experience. Addressing the topic now, he explicitly positioned his remarks as a defense of the show’s integrity and legacy, refuting what he characterized as outdated or misrepresented allegations. He continued:

This so-called 'expose' makes me realize that there are some people in this world who will happily exaggerate and create falsehoods in order to justify a personal hateful vendetta against a person in order to draw attention to themselves. Making the situation worse is the fact that the accused is deceased, and therefore, making it impossible for the accused to defend himself. The adjective “brave” should never be used in reference to a person attacking a dead person.

In his post, Dobkowitz referenced court proceedings from the earliest disputes involving the show, noting that those matters had been resolved years earlier. He questioned why allegations, some decades old, are being revisited now and characterized the renewed attention as unnecessary. Finally, he added:

Someday, when I write my book, (if anyone still cares by then), my 36 years of observations with Bob, the models, and the staff will clear up lots of misconceptions and dismiss many wrongful accusations. The show was a happy place… our working environment was the envy of other shows. Staff rarely quit… the dozens of women who were in our repertoire of models came back year after year, happy to be on our show. The only unhappy people, as would be found in any company, were the ones that didn’t get the raise they wanted, the ones that didn’t get the promotion they thought they deserved, and the ones that were terminated for not doing their job. Of course, we did have a small handful of those people, but far, far, less than other companies had. I was there for 36 years. I was on that stage.

Dirty Rotten Scandals is reopening long-standing debates tied to The Price Is Right and the legacy of Bob Barker. As highlighted in the docuseries, many of the most serious allegations center on larger workplace culture and behind-the-scenes conduct, with former staff and models describing incidents they say were not sufficiently addressed at the time.

At the same time, responses from Barker’s camp and longtime collaborators have regularly emphasized his public reputation and decades-long role as one of television’s most recognizable game show hosts, a role he held until he retired in 2007, when comedian Drew Carey replaced him.

Dirty Rotten Scandals concluded with episodes featuring The Price Is Right, which aired on March 18, 2026, on E!. The full series is now available on the network’s streaming sites. The Price Is Right continues to air regular weekday morning broadcasts on CBS and is streaming with your Paramount+ subscription.
