Assassin's Creed 3 Tyranny Of King Washington Trailer Begins New Revolution

Ubisoft has released the first trailer for Tyranny of King Washington, the alternate history DLC coming to Assassin's Creed 3. In this new campaign, players will fight George Washington instead of working with him.

In this alternate timeline, George Washington and the Continental Army still win their independence from England. However, instead of creating a republic, Washington decides to crown himself king. He proceeds to rule this new nation with an iron fist.

In the trailer, Washington's seen stroking a golden cane. It looks like he's in possession of a Piece of Eden. Or maybe you could say that the Piece of Eden possesses him. It would certainly explain his sudden lust for power.

This new timeline comes with another twist: Ratonhnhaké:ton never became Connor. More importantly, he never became an Assasin. He'll have to find a different way to develop the skills necessary to fight Washington. Additionally, he'll look quite different. The trailer provides a quick glimpse at his new appearance:

Tyranny's new campaign will play out over three DLC packs. This content, along with the Hidden Secrets and Battle Hardened multiplayer DLC, can all be yours if you purchase the Season Pass for AC3. You'll be able to buy the DLC packs individually as well, but it's 25% cheaper to buy them in bulk.

No release date has been mentioned for the first episode of Tyranny. Ubisoft has promised that all Season Pass DLC will be released within six months of the game's launch, though.

Update: The DLC's first episode will launch in February.
