Why You Need To Play Uncharted 4 This Weekend

As a way to say “Thank you!” to the fans, Naughty Dog is hosting a multiplayer bonus weekend where they'll be rolling out bonuses on the relics and vanity items. The event will last from May 27th to May 31st on Tuesday at 12pm PST in the afternoon.

IGN picked up the news of the multiplayer bonus weekend from Naughty Dog, who decided to run the promotion to thank the fans for making Uncharted 4 the fastest selling first-party title for the PlayStation 4, and helped move more than 2.7 million units both digitally and physically.

Over on the Naughty Dog website they noted that the bonus weekend in Uncharted 4 conveniently ties in with the Memorial Day weekend. They want gamers to get in as much gaming as possible, which is why the multiplayer bonus will last for four days.

The 50% Relic bonus will apply for all of the multiplayer challenges, and purchasing vanity item bundles will be discounted by 70%. It really is a good time to get in on Uncharted 4 with those kind of deals.

The game's multiplayer wasn't really one of the big selling points, but it's become a staple in the series since Uncharted 2. Naughty Dog didn't have to pump any amount of time into adding in a multiplayer component to an already full single-player experience. Some people were a little let down that it didn't have co-op mode, but don't worry the co-op is literally on the developmental roadmap.

At this juncture Naughty Dog is just taking some time to celebrate the huge launch of Uncharted 4 with their fans.

The multiplayer contains a couple of new features not present in the previous iterations of the series. For instance, it's possible to use the supernatural elements known as Mysticals to turn the tide of battle if you find yourself on the losing end, or if you just want to create some distance between you and your opponents while you're on the winning side. There are a handful of different Mysticals at your disposal that can easily wreck some serious damage on opponents.

The use of stealth comes into play a lot more in Uncharted 4's multiplayer thanks to the larger arenas and multiple pathways setup throughout them. This gives gamers with a penchant for tactical skills a lot more opportunities to explore taking down their foes.

Sidekicks are another new feature that have been tossed into the game's multiplayer as well. Players can customize a loadout and have an AI NPC accompanying them into battle to take down their foes.

One of the more entertaining elements that made its way into Uncharted 4's multiplayer is the grappling hook. It allows players to swing around and knock out enemies with a flying punch, or scale to new heights in order to get into a advantageous sniping position.

You can check out all of these new features in Uncharted 4's multiplayer during the bonus weekend as part of the fan celebration and Memorial Day Celebration. Just be sure to act quick because you only have until May 31st before the bonuses go kaput.
