Could Ryan Gosling be the next man to play Batman? That seems to be what the folks over at think. In a post left on their message board, site owner Robert Sanchez says that Notebook star Ryan Gosling was Warner Brothers and DC’s top choice to play Batman in their upcoming Justice League of America movie.

If you’re not up to speed on JLA, here’s the skinny: Rumor has it that the film will be a computer animated movie, directed by Happy Feet and Mad Max helmer George Miller. It’s already pretty much confirmed that neither Christian Bale nor Brandon Routh will be involved in the movie in any capacity as Superman or Batman, leaving the WB to look for someone new to voice the characters for their animated movie adventures while Bale and Routh continue on in their live-action, solo caped crusading.

Sanchez admits he has no confirmation on Gosling’s involvement with JLA, and in fact official announcements on anything having to do with JLA have so far been scarce. Even the involvement of Miller at this stage is still just a very likely rumor. So don’t hold your breath for Gosling yet, if indeed you bat-fans really want him voicing the character. Personally, I have a hard time picturing the soft-spoken Gosling’s voice coming out from under Batman’s dark cowl. Being Batman requires something… deeper? Gosling’s a very nice actor, but voice actor? I don’t know.
