A sequel to Hostel director Eli Roth’s acclaimed 2002 debut Cabin Fever has been knocking around in development hell since some time in 2004, but till now nothing ever seemed to come of it. In November of last year it finally started moving again when Lionsgate announced that Ti West would be directing it, instead of Eli Roth. Now pushing further forward, the movie has a title.
Lionsgate announced today that the sequel will be called Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever. The title makes me thing it’ll involve spring break hotties, familiar territory for the burgeoning torture porn industry, but that’s just a wild guess. Ti West has insisted in the past that his Cabin Fever won’t just be a repeat of the original, so maybe it’ll be a repeat of Eli Roth’s Hostel instead. Personally, my favorite thing about Cabin Fever was the claymation shorts included on the DVD. Those were gold. If West wants to make a sequel to those, count me in.
