Daft Punk Music Video Reveals Their Tron: Legacy Cameo

You'd think for a movie about being trapped within a computer world, Tron: Legacy would know better than to debut something on MySpace-- how much less futuristic can you get, really? That aside, the new Daft Punk music video "Derezzed" that debuted at the site today, as the latest installment in the Tron Tuesday promotions, is pretty fun to watch-- and reveals the duo's cameo in the film if I'm not mistaken. Most of the footage in the video is familiar stuff, but if you look closely you see that Michael Sheen's villain character is saying to "Electrify the boys and girls if you'd be so kind"-- a line we've heard in trailers before-- directly to Daft Punk, who are DJing in a nearby booth.

Is this the musicians' only cameo in the film, or do they play an integral role in whatever Sheen's villainous plan is? I have no idea, but I'm actually curious about the extent of their cameo for the first time, now seeing that they're something more than just another vague, electronics-tinged presence in the world of Tron. Check out the video below and let me know if you spy any other Easter Eggs or surprises tucked in there.

If you've missed the previous Tron Tuesday installments, click here for the image featuring Daft Punk, and here for last week's poster that was an homage to the original.

Watch it on HD at MySpace.
