It's taken a lot longer than anybody would have expected, but the full Marvel: Phase One box set will eventually be making its way to fans, featuring every Marvel film leading up to The Avengers (plus The Avengers itself) and a promised boatload of new extras and Easter Eggs to make it worth the $219 price tag. The box set was delayed from its planned September release thanks to a lawsuit from the company that manufactures the briefcase used in the design of the box set, but with the suit settled-- and a new briefcase design in place-- the box set is finally coming out April 2 next year.

With the Blu-ray finally available again for pre-order today, Entertainment Weekly is providing a few new glimpses at what fans can expect-- including video of the alternate ending from Thor, which will be included on the box set for the first time. Unfortunately that video's not embeddable, so you'll have to go over there to check it out. But they also talked to Kevin Feige, who teased not only some of the deleted scenes from the existing films that will be included, but some sneak peeks at upcoming Phase Two films as well:

Even more compelling for fans in the $219 set is a chance to look ahead to Marvel’s Phase Two, which starts in May with Iron Man 3 and includes Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Ant-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy and, of course, The Avengers 2.Obviously, some of those films are closer to completion than others, but Feige was mum about what will actually be included, saying only that the Phase Two preview would include “footage, concept art, and a few new surprises. Also, look for a nod to Iron Man 3 in the Tony Stark S.H.I.E.L.D. file in the box set.”

Diehard fans can also poke their way through "Shield Files," in which each character is given a file that's "full of great, movie-accurate props and Easter eggs." It's possible that there will be entirely new information about the Marvel Cinematic Universe only revealed to the fans dedicated enough to watch all the bonus features-- so if you want to get the scoop, you'll probably want to set aside a lot of time when the box set finally arrives April 2.
