Puss In Boots Is The Most Interesting Cat In The World
It would appear that the marketing for Dreamworks Animation's Puss in Boots is trying an interesting experiment. Set to be released in early November, we saw the first teaser trailer for the film back in June, but since then the previews have been funny viral videos. It began with the commerical for "No Pants" Pants last month and today we have a video titled "The Most Interesting Cat In The World." Check it out:
While I like the video a lot, there are a couple things that I find bizarre about it. For starters, it's a parody of a parody, as the Dos Equis commercials are making fun of "Chuck Norris Facts" fad that spread around the internet like wildfire a while back. Secondly, is there a large crossover between age groups that want to see Puss in Boots and those that regularly watch beer commercials? Adults will get it in a second, but I don't think kids will have any idea what's going on. In the film, directed by Chris Miller, Puss (Antonio Banderas) teams up with Humpty Dumpty (Zach Galifianakis) and another cat named Kitty (Salma Hayek) to steal the goose that lays the golden eggs.
