Dave Bautista Confirms One Avenger That Drax Will Interact With In Infinity War

Iron Man

Everybody is looking forward to Avengers: Infinity War because it will bring together several MCU heroes who have never interacted before. Now, the man behind Drax has revealed at least one hero he'll be working with in the new movie. In a recent podcast interview, Dave Bautista was asked if he did any scenes with Robert Downey Jr. and Dave didn't seem to be sure how to answer. Since nobody seems to have a problem when the answer is no, we can be fairly confident that the answer here is yes.

Former professional wrestler Dave Bautista returned to his roots recently when he was a guest on Chris Jericho's Talk is Jericho podcast. Since Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is new in theaters a great deal of the conversation was about movies rather than wrestling. Jericho asked Bautista what it was like reading lines with somebody like Robert Downey Jr., assuming, of course, that the two actually read lines together. Jericho immediately pounced on Bautista's hesitance to answer the question and assumed that meant that the two do have scenes together. Bautista laughed and then appeared to confirm that, yes, they do.

Dave Bautista has previously stated that having Drax interact with Tony Stark was something that he really wanted to see. The combination of Stark's endless sarcasm and Drax inability to take things anything but literally struck him as comedy gold. Bautista's most recent comments on the idea came fairly recently, so there's a good chance he already knew the two would appear together. One wonders if he was actually giving us an indication of the sort of scene the two might actually have together.

The bringing together of the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Avengers will be the major draw of Avengers: Infinity War next year. Just as the first Avengers film was highlighted by the coming together of the MCU's major heroes, this third installment will bring together Marvel's earth based heroes with their cosmic universe. Recent comments from Marvel have indicated that these two groups finally coming together could signal a significant shift in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as the next phase may make major changes in the stories they're looking to tell.

The return of the Guardians of the Galaxy in their second film has certainly reminded us why we love these characters so much and we can't wait to see where they go from here. We know that in addition to their appearance in the next Avengers movies, they'll also get their own trilogy brought to an end under the eye of director James Gunn. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is in theaters now. Avengers: Infinity War is set for release in May of 2018.
