The Red Band Kingsman: The Golden Circle Trailer Is Over The Top Fun, Watch It Now

This weekend is a big one for hardcore TV and film fans. With San Diego Comic-Con in full swing, we can expect plenty of new trailers, footage, and announcements from popular franchises. And now the over the top action franchise Kingsman has debuted a red band trailer for the highly anticipated sequel The Golden Circle, and it's chock full of ridiculous and fantastic action sequences, plus a closer look at the myriad of new characters being introduced. Check it out below.

There is so much cool crap happening in this short trailer that I don't even know where to start. Let's break down everything we're being shown from Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

The trailer picks up on Taron Egerton's Eggsy, who seems to have really come into his own as a full fledged member of Kingsman. We see as he pursues an enemy, even flipping up on top of a moving vehicle in the process. And while Eggsy is looking like a total badass, Julianne Moore's villainous Poppy has other plans. She destroys the Kingsman facilities, and she does it with an alarming smile on her face. Poppy's mixture of charisma and villainy is an interesting dynamic, and I'm sure Moore's portrayal will be a highlight of the sequel.

With the Kingsman out of commission, Eggsy and his compatriots (including Colin Firth's suspiciously alive Harry Hart) head across the pond to team up with the American division- Statesman. At this point we're introduced to a variety of colorful characters, played by A-listers like Channing Tatum, Halle Berry, and Jeff Bridges. Each of them bring an over the top American attitude to their role, and it's going to be interesting to see how the two organizations work in tandem against a common enemy.

Part of what makes the Kingsman franchise so awesome is the crazypants action sequences, complete with ridiculous and badass gadgets. And while Kingsman toys include proper English props like briefcases and umbrellas, Statesman does things differently. For instance, some members bare a deadly lasso, which is capable of cutting his foes in half in seconds. Plus, there's plenty of good old fashioned gun fights in the trailer, with Statesman using revolvers to further cement their cowboy aesthetic.

Overall, this trailer for Kingsman: The Golden Circle is likely to excite even the most casual audiences, regardless of whether or not they saw the first film. The franchise doesn't appear to be all that heavily focused on serialized storytelling, so The Golden Circle should be accessible for newcomers. I mean, Colin Firth definitely died in the first film, although now it appears that Harry was just shot in the eye, and managed to survive and still continue using firearms as a career. Just suspend your disbelief, and have some fun with it.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle will arrive in theaters on September 22nd, 2017. In the meantime, check out our 2017 release list to plan your next trip to the movies.
