Kim And Kanye Are Hilariously At War With The Co-Founder Of YouTube
By Mack Rawden 1 year ago
The majority of celebrity feuds make sense. Even absent details, itís pretty easy to figure out why they started and how intense they probably are. This one, however, is a ludicrous wild card. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are ready to go to war with, of all people, Chad Hurley, who is best known as one of the founders of YouTube.
According to TMZ, Hurley was in attendance when Kanye proposed to Kim in San Francisco earlier this month. He reportedly wasnít invited, but he was able to talk his way in, probably because he co-founded YouTube. As part of that free pass, however, he was reportedly forced to sign a confidentiality agreement. If Kim and Kanye are to be believed, however, he knowingly violated said agreement by recording the proposal and uploading it to his new project, Mixbit.
The video was obviously widely shared within hours after the initial upload, and that didnít sit too well with either the reality star or her soon-to-be musician husband because the footage was reportedly earmarked for Keeping Up With The Kardashians. No doubt it will still air at some point in the future and probably be widely consumed, but thereís no denying a certain amount of the surprise element will be gone. As such, they filed a lawsuit today accusing the entrepreneur of intentionally breaking the agreement for his own publicity.
On the one hand, itís easy to see why he might have gone that route. Despite some good reviews, Mixbit really doesnít have a ton of name recognition yet, but over the past few weeks, itís been talked about a ton thanks to this story. On the other hand, however, intentionally violating a confidentiality agreement is a serious issue. He could be hit with a massive fine, and beyond that, itís kind of a dick move.
What do you think? If he intentionally violated his confidentiality agreement, was it a good decision? Let us know your thoughts by voting in the poll belowÖ
