Justin Bieber has had more than his share of problems over the past few weeks in the United States. He’s been arrested in Miami and investigated in Los Angeles, and now, his problems have apparently extended North of the Border too. The pop star was arrested and charged with assault last night in Toronto, and while details of the incident haven’t fully emerged yet, what has is pretty disturbing.

According to TMZ, the incident in question happened on December 30 a little before 3 in the morning. Bieber and a few members of his entourage were riding in a limousine when some kind of skirmish broke out. During that mess, Bieber allegedly snuck up behind the poor limo driver and bashed him on the back of the head several times like a shady old timey wrestling victim. He later reported the incident to police, but there doesn’t seem to have been a serious injury that came from the fight because Bieber’s lawyer, Howard Weitzman, referred to it as a low-level crime.

If you want to know what the larger problem for Bieber is, look no further than the fact that most people seem to have responded to this news by saying, “Yeah, I could see that.” And really, what does it say about a person if you could easily see them sneaking up behind another human being and coldcocking them in the back of the head? That’s lower than low, but then again, I’m not really sure it’s lower than peeing in a janitor’s bucket or egging someone’s house, allegedly for revenge after they confronted you about repeatedly driving recklessly.

We’ll keep you updated on the Toronto assault case as more details emerge. It’s unlikely this will be a matter that results in serious jail time, but it could well lead to community service and an ugly conviction on Bieber’s record that will further scar his emerge moving forward.
