The Trailer For Legends Of Tomorrow Season 2 Is Stunning And Badass, Check It Out

There's never any shortage of information at San Diego Comic-Con, and we've learned a ton of new information from for the new seasons of all the CW shows. But maybe the biggest revelations came for Legends of Tomorrow. Not only will the precursor to the Justice League, the Justice Society of America, be heavily involved with the season, but the Legion of Doom will serve as the main villains. In addition, the team will have to double down on wacky time travel adventures to fix the timeline. It's all pretty cool stuff, which you can gleam of in a trailer for the Season 2.

All in all, this is a pretty well put together trailer. It's heavily mixed with footage from Season One, but they probably haven't been filming the new season for too long. Plus, it serves as a pretty good narrative device to show where the Legends have been, and what in store for them in the future...or past, I guess.

The new mission is established through the trailer without tipping its hand too much. After the Legends dismantled the Time Masters, there's no one left to safeguard the correct path of history. That's where the team steps in to fix the mess they pretty much caused. We don't get to see much of the JSA (except for Hourman) or the Legion of Doom, so we have more to look forward to in the future.

What we did get to see was some new footage from what looked like the Season 2 premiere, where everyone decides they have to step up and stop New York from getting blown up in WWII. You all know what that means: superheroes vs Nazis (Heatwave's least favorite people).

During this trip to the forties, the team encounters a familiar face at a nondescript dock: Damien Darke. The main villain from Season 4 of Arrow is back thanks to time traveling shenanigans, and we know that he will be a member of the Legion of Doom alongside Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman), Eobard Thawne (Matt Lesher), and former Legend Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller). It's clear to see that Sarah is out for Darke's blood, but if it took Oliver Queen an entire season to kill him the first time, then Sarah probably won't have much luck.

There was a noticeable lack of footage of Hawkgirl and Hawkman, who will not be returning to the show. The Legends will feature a revolving lineup of heroes from season to season, but most of the crew is sticking around for Season 2. We also didn't get to see anything from the new Vixen or the other new cast members, but all good things come in time.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow will return in the fall season on Thursday, October 13 on the CW.
