First Clip From The Fosters Shows Some Household Drama Is Headed To ABC Family
ABC Family has been gearing up for its new series The Fosters for a while, releasing the first image from the series back in February. We already know the show follows two moms who are raising a brood of both biological and adopted children, and the newest clip from the series helps explain a couple of the kids’ backstories a little more.
The above clip from the network introduces us to Jesus (Jake T. Austin) and Marianna (Cierra Ramirez) who capably argue like siblings. Apparently, Jesus has a prescription for a certain type of pill and the bottle disappeared under Marianna’s watch. He confronts her about the missing drugs and a newly acquired windfall she’s come into and the answer his sister gives him is a somewhat unexpected one. From the clip, The Fosters seems a little overly dramatic—but what ABC program isn’t?
So far, The Fosters is probably most famous for having Jennifer Lopez on board as an executive producer for the series. However, its sensitivity to modern familial issues, including gay parents, adoption, and multi-cultural families, should win it additional bonus points. The Fosters was picked up alongside another new drama called Twisted. We’ll see if either drama is able to find an audience on the network when the programs premiere in the coming months.
The Fosters hits the ABC Family schedule on Monday, June 3 at 9 p.m. ET.
