Jennifer Lopez Still Hemming And Hawing Over Idol Decision

Back in May, Jennifer Lopez announced she ‘may’ be quitting American Idol before she makes it to her third season as a judge on the show. The announcement was unsurprising, considering Fox’s singing competition is a major commitment, and Lopez has several young children as well multiple producing and acting projects going on at once. Besides, the 42-year-old nearly quit after her first season on the show due to not earning enough money, so would it really be surprising if she quit after her Season 11 tenure?

No, it would not be surprising if Lopez quit, but what is surprising is how long the lady has been hemming and hawing over a decision which should already have been made. On Thursday, the What To Expect When You’re Expecting star joined Today, where she discussed her tenure on Idol in uncertain terms.

“You know, I signed on to American Idol to do one year, and … I wound up doing the two years. And now it’s like, ‘OK, do we continue on this journey?’ I’ve loved it so much. I enjoy the show so much. I enjoy just the whole process of the show and the whole thing. So it’s a tough decision either way.”

She later continued to share her feelings about her judging position, stating she “truly is” in a confused state about where her feet will land her but “maybe it is” time for her to go. Last year, when Lopez opted to stick around on the hit show for another year, she made the announcement in August, which means we’ve only got a few more weeks before Lopez most likely will cede her position. I just hope she refrains from doing any more interviews in the meantime.
