Heathers: Our Favorite Clique Is Back, On Blu-Ray
I don’t care how many years out of high school I am; I can never get enough of teen angst favorites like Heathers. Lucky for me, according to DVDActive.com, Anchor Bay Entertainment will be releasing this 1989 classic on Blu-ray as well as Heathers: Limited Edition Locker Set on Blu-ray and DVD on November 18th.
I’m sure just about everyone can relate to Veronica Sawyer (Winona Ryder) and her bittersweet feelings about being a part of the cool clique at school. But, then again, most cool cliques aren’t comprised of 3 evil girls all coincidently named Heather. These pretty and popular ladies thrive on humiliating their classmates but when Veronica grows a conscious she teams up with her new bad boy boyfriend, J.D. (Christian Slater), and takes her revenge a little further than she bargains for.
The bonus features are almost as juicy as the gossip at Westerburg High. With the Blu-ray version, you’ll get the movie trailer, audio commentary with the director, producer and writer in addition to fast film facts and two featurettes, one called “Return to Westerburg High” and the other “SwatchDogs & Diet Coke Heads.” If you opt for the limited edition version you’ll end up with way more than just a disc to put into your locker. It comes with goods like a numbered locker, a 20-page hardcover Heathers yearbook, a t-shirt, magnets, a Westerburg algebra book, the Blu-ray disc and two DVDs. This may seem like Heather-overload, but to the Diet Coke heads out there, it’s the only way to become more than just a bluebird, brownie or Girl Scout cookie and be worshiped at Westerburg High.
So, whether you were the Heather or Martha Dumptruck, excuse me, Martha Dunnstock of your class, you’ll still appreciate this timeless classic. You can get the Blu-ray version for $29.97 or go all out and pick up the Locker Set for $89.97.
