You're Going To Sturdy Wings; Role Models Hits DVD And Blu-Ray

You thought Adam Sadler in Big Daddy was a bad role model. On March 10th, Universal Studios Home Entertainment brings you the ultimate in dysfunctional child mentoring when Role Models comes to DVD and Blu-ray.

Danny (Paul Rudd) isn’t thrilled with his job peddling the energy drink, Minotaur, to kids in high school. Wheeler (Seann William Scott), on the other hand, couldn’t be more thrilled to sport the Minotaur costume and chug as much of the drink for free he possibly can. After the pals get into an altercation over the company truck being towed, they are arrested and sentenced to 150 hours of community service at a big-brother mentorship program called Sturdy Wings. You’d think this would be much more appealing than spending 30 days in prison, but after just one day with their new little brothers, Danny and Wheeler start to think that jail might not be so bad after all. Danny is paired with Augie Farks (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), a geeky teenager with a passion for a live action role-playing game called LAIRE. Wheeler is teamed up with Ronnie Shields (Bobb’e J. Thompson), a foulmouthed kid with hopes of expressing his love for breasts through a comic book called “Adventures of the Booby-watcher.” Can Danny and Wheeler survive their time at Sturdy Wings or will they have to complete their sentence in jail?

This film is a DVD must. It’s one of those comedies that you can watch over and over again and still laugh just as hard as you did when you saw it in theaters. What makes the Role Models DVD even more of a necessity? The bonus material includes bloopers! The DVD also includes deleted scenes, alternative takes, a making of the film featurette, a featurette about the film’s supporting characters and commentary with the director/co-writer David Wain. There’s also a featurette detailing the world of role-playing, which touches on the creation of the costumes and fight choreography. If you opt for the Blu-ray version you can add some more deleted scenes to the list, U-Control and BD-LIVE. The BD-LIVE element even has a program that lets you make your own coat-of-arms.

How could you say no to a fun-loving comedy filled with hysterics? Even if you’ve already seen Role Models in theaters, your bound to have even more fun the second time around because both the DVD and Blu-ray discs will have the theatrical version of the film as well as an unrated version. Sacrifice your venti coffee for the week and save up to buy Role Models on DVD for $29.98 or Blu-ray for $39.98.
