A Force Awakens Pack Is Being Added To Star Wars Pinball

Zen Studios has been consistently putting out a lot of new content for their Zen Pinball brand, and it only makes sense that Star Wars: The Force Awakens joins the pinball series as a new table, especially given all the other licensed properties that have been made available for the virtual billiard game over the past couple of years.

IGN is reporting that the Star Wars Pinball: The Force Awakens will contain two different tables for players to overcome, and will center around Rey, Finn and the Might of the First Order starting January 12 for PC, home consoles and mobile devices. You can get a glimpse of the announcement trailer below.

The pinball table featuring Rey, Finn and Poe will last for about 12 story modes and will give gamers plenty of time in the billiard room rendition of the Star Wars universe to get accustomed to the flippers and bumpers along the way.

The second pack will include a journey through the Might of the First Order. They don't show that in the teaser trailer above, but according to the IGN post it puts players in the role of the First Order as they attempt to scour the galaxy and take control just like the Empire did during the Galactic Empire era. It's a two-level play arena where there's a Star Destroyer at the heart of the action.

The addition of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens content comes after the release of the Star Wars: Rebels pinball table. Zen Studios is really getting in on the Star Wars action as much as possible given how hot a property it is right now.

Electronic Arts has seen first hand how much the license can be worth with the release of Star Wars: Battlefront, which has sold an estimated 12 million copies over the course of November and December. We'll see where it falls on the NPD charts when the data is released later in the month.

Disney Interactive has also been getting pounded in revenue and profit from the Disney Infinity line that features the Force Awakens characters and content. With the launch of the movie, the Disney Infinity series, for the first time since its release, has managed to outsell Activision's Skylanders toy sets. Never doubt the marketing power of Star Wars.

Zen Studios, however, has never shied away from an opportunity to get in on licensed property. They had Terminator: Genisys tables, as well as tables for popular brands like Ant-Man, Portal and The Avengers, along with The Walking Dead, amongst many other popular games, television shows and movies.

It was inevitable for Zen to tap the Star Wars property in relation to the new movies, television shows and upcoming media surrounding the property. As mentioned, you can look forward to the Star Wars: The Force Awakens pinball table for Zen Pinball 2 to launch on January 12.
