Sony is pulling a Valve. No they're not pulling a valve handle; they're pulling out a flash sale on PSN, similar to how Valve has steep discounts with mid-week flash sales on Steam. Some pretty cool games are available for up to 80% off right now on the PlayStation Store.

Over on the PlayStation Blog, they list all of the games that are currently discounted during the flash sale, which will last between now (August 19th) and Monday (August 22nd). So you'll have the entire weekend waiting and willing to take hold of whatever you have in your wallet that you're willing to throw at Sony. The deals are at the ready.

So what sort of deals can you get your mitts on for the PlayStation systems? Well, the games span the likes of the PSP, the PlayStation Vita, the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4. We're talking about games like the Power Stone Collection, the classics that made a name for themselves on the Dreamcast, now available on PSP for $3.99, down from the regular $9.99 price point.

We've got games like Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, another classic available for only $4.99, down from the original $19.99 retail price. There are cross-buy games for the PlayStation Vita, such as Teslagrad, which you can grab for $4.49, down from the regular price of $14.99. That means you can also play the game on your PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 at no extra charge once you add it to your PSN profile.

One of my personal favorites, Saturday Morning RPG, which is also available as a cross-buy for $2.99 that will gain you a copy on PS Vita, PS3 and PS4. The Kickstarted role-playing game is definitely worth checking out if you enjoy a turn-based RPG based on a lot of classic Saturday morning cartoons like G.I. Joe, Transformers, Thundercats, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, just to name a few.

If you're into more character-driven RPGs, there are the Mass Effect games available on the PS3, with the first game being reduced down to $5.99 and the third game being available for only $7.99. If you're more-so into JRPGs, there are six Final Fantasy games available for only $2.99 each, all of them discounted from their regular $9.99 price.

Another one of my personal favorites, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is available for only $4.49, and they've got a seventh gen gem in the form of Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen which is knocked down from $29.99 to only $7.49. Both Crysis and Crysis 2 are also available for only $5.99.

Moving up to the PlayStation 4, games like Prototype and Prototype 2 are marked down, with the first game being available for $9.89 and the second game being available for $14.79, both of which are marked down from $29.99 and $39.99 respectively.

If you're really into the medieval fantasy stuff, two different types of Dragon Age: Inquisition packs are available, including the game of the year edition and the deluxe edition. The deluxe edition is only $7.99 but if you want all the DLC that has been released up until this point, you'll want the GOTY edition, which is available for only $15.99 during the flash sale.

And finally, if you're in the mood for some sci-fi shooting don't forget to check out the Borderlands: The Handsome Collection for the PS4 for only $23.99, which is down considerably from the $59.99 price point. Once again, you'll only have up until Monday, next week, to get your hands on these deals before they go kaput.
